A VERY SPECIAL PERSON
I would like to tell you a little bit about my beautiful niece Sindie, because she was a very special person.
Last night after a five-year battle with cancer, and at the tender age of 39, Sindie closed her eyes for the last time and is now at rest.
Before she became too ill, we attended creative writing classes together, shared our hobbies and shopped together. She had the utmost patience and saw the funny side of life like no other.
When my husband was in hospital, and knowing of my great fear of spiders, Sindie told me that should I find a large eight legged beastie in my house I was to phone her night or day, whatever the time, and she would hurry round and dispose of it for me. This became reality one night about 1 am. I phoned Sindie and within a couple of minutes she had put on her coat (she was in her pyjamas and in bed), jumped into her car, and sped round to my house, to rescue me. She thought it was very funny and never once complained about me getting her out of bed. It was the first, but certainly not the last time she would save me from my worse fear.

I've been wracking my brain to think of lovely stories about her, but thinking of individual ones is very hard. I have suddenly realized why. Her life has just been one unending lovely story since she grew up and became a wife and then a mother. Always smiling, always there to help, advise or organize. Always ready to share, always ready to listen to your problems and never letting anything get her down. She was my friend, my confidante, and she brought sunshine into my life. I loved her to bits. You don’t meet many people like Sindie, and now there is a great hole in our hearts. Farewell my very special person.
Since posting this blog, we have learned that Sindie especially asked if, instead of 'donating ' to Interflora, we send a donation, no matter how small, to her favourite cancer charity. Perhaps you would like to click on the link below and read all the lovely things that have been posted about her. If you have lost a loved one to this dreadful disease, maybe you might like to donate a little too. Thank you.

Thank you for this Leeta. You have described Sindie, my lovely, sweet daughter perfectly. I will miss her forever, and I know this hurt will never go away.
Granny:
So sorry for your tragic loss. Please accept our deepest sympathies. And to Weechuff, I feel so much sorrow for you. I lost a son several years ago, so I have some small understanding of the blinding sadness you are experiencing. Loosing a child is such a terrible thing and, no matter what he age, she was still your little girl.
Take care.
That did sum Sindie up. Nothing was too much trouble for her. A truly kind heart and I don't think I'll ever stop missing her either. She has left us all a fantastic amount of happy, joyful memories though :)
SANDIE (Weechuff)
Your pain is my pain, that's what sisters are for. We will all help you both to bury the pain and live forever with the beautiful memories and the joy that Sindie gave you.
SWUBIRD
Thank you for those kind and comforting words. I'm sure that Sandie and her husband appreciated your lovely words of sympathy.
BABS-BEETLE
Yes you are right. I know that when the raw hurt has gone, we will spend many hours laughing and sharing Sindie moments with each other.
How beautifully and perfectly put.
Sindie was indeed a very special person: the most irrespressibly optimistic and like-affirming I think I've ever met. It's appauling sad that anyone should die so young, but all the more so for such a warm, generous and fun-loving person as dear Sindie.
My heart goes out to Livvie, Emily and Gary.
I never met Sindie but knew her so well through Tina´s eyes and thoughts. I know you will all miss her so much, you are all in my thougthts at this very sad time.

My adorable and beautiful niece Sindie. Always uplifting, ever the up-lifter! There was no end to her talents, but she was so modest. Each new task she undertook was met with the same high enthusiasm, just as she amazingly met each new fight with her illness. She was, simply put, remarkable in every way, one of God’s very special people, who always had the time to help make other peoples lives better if she could, regardless of her own problems. Oh I will miss what we shared Sindie, and I thank you for the memories and the love you gave me always. God bless you beautiful Sindie Poo.

You are right Lynne, Sindie was irrespressibly optimistic. That was what kept her going. That, and all the other lovely things that have been said about her.

I hope that Sindie knew how much we all admired and loved her. If she didn't, her family do now. I hope this brings a measure of comfort to them all, and something that they will remember always.
Sindie was talented, funny, loved every minute of life and a fighter whose bravery will be a lesson to us all. We all have so many different memories to treasure and are proud to have been a small part of her life.
Love Anne and Bill
I'm so very sorry to read about your loss, Granny, and please pass my heartfelt condolences to Weechuff too. It must be so hard to lose a child. I know my Mum found it so when my brother died, and MIL too, when she lost one of her sons.
Sindie sounds very special. It's so hard to understand, isn't it? Many hugs to you both.
ANNE
What a wonderful role model Sindie has been not only for for her two you8ng daughters, but for all of us
JAY
Thank you for your kind comments Jay. I know that my sister Weechuff is gaining great comfort from all the lovely tributes that have been sent for Sindie. Monday is going to be hard, but we are a strong loving family and we will all support each other.
It is hard to put into words just how sad we all are, I want so much to phone Sindie and chat,or email her, I miss her dreadfully. Weechuff always remember Sindie had a very large part of you in her and I have seen that more and more in the last few weeks, your kindness for other members of the family that are grieving, your bravery, your love for us all has shone through your own terrable grief. Thank you. Croom
