BACK IN THE SADDLE AGAIN - I THINK!

Here I am again after an unforgettable string of mishaps. It started with my thirteen-year-old cat Boomer, suddenly having a heart attack and dying without any signs of illness. Shortly after, my computer deciding to go AWOL for six days. I thought that it was a server problem and sat tight. Suddenly it came back so I went to various friends’ blog sites to explain that I was back again – WRONG! After three days I went off line again.

That wouldn’t have been so bad if at the same time my freezer hadn’t decided to join in the fun. I rang my friendly neighbourhood freezer mending man, only to be told that it would never make another strawberry ice-lolly again.

That wouldn’t have been so bad, if I could have gone on line and bought a new freezer. (People, who know me well, know that we don’t have transport and we live in a small village, so have to shop on line all the time).

That wouldn’t have been so bad if my telephone hadn’t started making a disgusting noise while I was trying to get my act together.

That wouldn’t have so bad if my keyboard hadn’t decided to seize up and refuse to type vowels, and gradually more and more letters. Although I couldn’t open any web sites or my blog site, I could send and receive emails. Now that too was becoming very difficult and time consuming.

My last disaster (or so I thought) came to light after a visit to the doctor. He found a lump on the side of my neck, and I am now waiting for a scan to find out what it is.

After a couple of hours spent in the very welcome company of my special computer doctor, I was back on line in full, and my blog site was also up and running.
That was two days ago. Two days spent trawling all over cyberspace for a tall frost-free freezer and a new keyboard. The former is still out of my grasp and the latter, luckily, wending it’s way to me. I thought that that was the end of my run of disasters until this afternoon, when the crown on my back tooth fell off! This coupled with the news that my lovely dentist was on holiday for two weeks and was leaving the practice in three! Mr. H. has been tending my teeth for fourteen years, what will I do without him?

Goodness me! You couldn't make that up,could you? Let's hope everything pulls together for you very soon. The saddest part was Boomer. He was such a loving, friendly cat.

Granny:

My gosh! When it rains it pours. It's been a while since I've heard of anybody having as many problem all at once as you've had over these last weeks. So sorry.

I trust everything is back together now---fingers crossed, of course. Sorry, I meant everything except for your poor little cat. Too bad about her/him. We've had a cat for about seventeen years, so I can surely sympathize with your loss. Trixie is her name. I bought her from a local pet dealer after receiving a lot of pressure from my youngest daughter. The poor thing was sickly and had a problem with one eye, but my daughter wouldn't change her mind. So I bought her, took her to the vet three or four times, and we nursed the little darling back to normal. My daughter has finished college and left home, but Trixie is still with us.

Glad you are back on line.

Take care, and rememeber...

Happy trails.

Are you sure it isn't an episode of 'Some Mothers do 'ave 'em'?
As for your dentist, if it's the same one I use, are you aware that ALL the dentists from that practice have left? I think I know what's happened there, and it's all part of my ongoing problems, which I will tell you about in private ;)

I have a feeling that people will think that I'm am making it up. I
hardly believe it myself. Yes I can hopefully recover fromn all
the other problems, but we can
never bring boomer back, she was
such a lovely cat. Such beautiful
khol lined eyes.

As the old song says 'Into each life some rain must fall, but too much is falling in mine'
I've now installed a new keyboard and mouse, but am still looking
for a freezer. Also still waiting
for my scan appointment. I am so sad about losing Boomer. I lost my ginger Emma the day before Christmas Eve. She was 18 and ill, but Boomer was only thirteen and (I thought) fit. Wed are now down to one cat for the first time ever in about 40 years! May you have many
more years of love from Trixie.

No I didn't know all the dentists are leaving. I am shocked and dying to know what is going on.

Oh Lord ... you certainly have been having a series of mishaps. I'm so sorry about your little cat. I know how heartbreaking that is. :(

Sorry to hear about the lump, too. Hopefully the scan will show that it's nothing very much and it'll be dealt with quickly and easily. Fingers crossed for that!

As to the crown and the dentist. I live in dread that mine will decide to retire. I might have to beg, plead, cajole and offer him my body if he'll only continue to see to my teeth! Not that he'd want my body. LOL!

Seriously though, I trust this dentist like no other. I can't imagine having to do without him, so I do feel for you. And missing a crown can't be any fun, even without the loss of a good dentist.

I'm trying not to think too much about my lump, and with all the other things that are happening here, that isn't too hard to do.
I've got me a lovely new keyboard that doesn't jam, or refuse to space out my words. It's so soft to touch and silent as well. Not much luck with the freezer yet. But I'm working on it.

Good grief Granny, they say things come in threes but you've certainly had more than your fair share of troubles and mishaps over the last few weeks.

Sorry to hear about Boomer... it's always sad when a loved pet dies, and even worse when it's enexpected. I know how we felt when our cat, Minky died. Our garden is a graveyard to dozens of rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils and hamsters, and we get used to them going, but longer living pets like cats certainly have more of gap in our lives when they go.

It's good to see you're back online and I hope everything else returns to normal soon - and that everything goes well at the doctors.

Oh poor you, we mustn't forget poor Arthur as this is all happening to him as well!

I also know how you feel about Boomer, it is really hard when a beloved pet dies.

You didn't say what happened to a freezer load of frozen food!!
